5 Good Reasons… Not to EAT BREAD….

I’m simply copying and pasting this with quotes because I felt it was VERY important to share with the blogosphere community at large… so here goes.. (all credit to Newssum)

Bread is wrongly placed at the bottom of our food pyramid which gets passed around all our schools despite many respected health professionals claiming bread and other sources of grains are unnecessary and potentially harmful. Here are some alarming facts about bread.

1. Whole Grain Bread Can Spike Blood Sugar Levels More Than A Snickers Bar: Whole grain bread does not actually have whole grains in it. Flour is formed in a process where grains are broken down into a powder form like flour. Since it is in a powder form, the body can rapidly digest the bread and let it enter the bloodstream as glucose. This raises the fat-producing hormone known as insulin. Whole grain bread even has a higher G.I (Glycemic Index) score than most candy bars such as snickers. When blood sugar goes up quickly, it can actually come crashing down just as fast causing us to get desperately hungry. This causes a perpetual cycle of eating, getting hungry then eating again. This is the downside of an the high carbohydrate diet that many misinformed authorities try to peddle us. As a resolution of this cycle, some scientists suggest eating a carb-restricted diet if a person suffers from diabetes or if they are overweight. Conclusion: Since the whole grains in the bread are broken down into a small refined powder, it is absorbed quickly by the body causing a spike in blood sugar levels. This why bread has such a high G.I score and it’s exactly why it scores higher than many candy bars.

2. Bread Has Lots of Gluten: The main ingredient in bread is generally wheat (although there are variations of bread). Wheat contains a protein called gluten. You may have heard of people being “celiac” or having “gluten intolerance”. There is evidence to suggest that a significant percentage of the population is sensitive to gluten. Gluten has glue-like properties which gives it that elastic qualities which allow you to stretch the material when you are baking or kneading bread (perfect for making cupcakes!). Although gluten can be great for baking, studies show there many adverse effects including bloating, stool inconsistency, damage to the wall of the intestinal tract and tiredness. Even more alarming is that gluten has been linked with schizophrenia and can be addictive as certain opiates. Conclusion: Most bread contains gluten which can be harmful to your health. To find out if gluten is affecting you, simply remove it from your diet for 30 days and then reintroduce it. You should see a difference in your general mood. In many peoples’ experience, they report being less sluggish.

3 Bread Contains other Harmful Substances: If you ever looked at the ingredients listed on the back of a packet of bread, you may wonder if you need a degree in chemistry to work out what is in it. Most bread contains sugar or high fructose corn syrup.

This sugar, the grains and the many other substances will send your pancreas into overdrive when you swallow them. A lot of these chemicals are preservatives that can stay lodged in your stomach for years.

Conclusion: Most bread has sugar in it which causes your blood sugar to spike even higher. When your blood sugar goes up, your body has to compensate by storing that extra energy in the form of fat.

“4 Bread is Low in Essential Nutrients: Even if we turn a blind eye to the problems with bread and focus on the nutrition, we are left disappointed. Bread is not as nutritious as other sources of food such as fresh vegetables, fruit, fish, eggs or meat. Even whole wheat grain bread is disappointing on the nutrition front. Not only is it low in nutrients, it also reduces the absorption of other real food. It does this for two reasons. First, the phytic acid found in whole wheat blocks minerals such as iron, zinc and calcium from being absorbed.[5] Secondly, since gluten damages the intestinal lining, less nutrients are absorbed. Grains do not even have all the essential amino acids that humans need for muscle building and maintenance (unlike bananas which are an excellent source of amino acids). Conclusion: Bread was traditionally a poor man’s food and is not as nutritious as it is made out to be. In fact, the grains in bread block nutrient absorption in the body. Instead of focusing on bread for your primary meal, it would be more efficient to eat other foods.

5 Whole wheat raises BAD Cholesterol (LDL)

In many studies, whole wheat bread has been found to increase the small dense LDL cholesterol by 60% over a 12 week period (Small dense LDL has been associated with heart disease). Cholesterol is a controversial topic because of the myths surrounding fat. We are led to believe it is fat that causes bad cholesterol when in fact the culprit could well be wheat. Conclusion: Wheat has been found to raise LDL cholesterol and most breads contain wheat. Bottom Line: Bread is one of the most consumed products in the western world. It is everywhere you look. It is in burgers, sandwiches, wraps and bread rolls. We are often told that whole grain bread is the healthiest part of the day but this could not be further from the truth. Bread in general is just a poor source of nutrients when compared to fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and fish. The main problem with bread is the fact that wheat has undergone such a change in the last 50 years and our bodies have not adapted to it. Even though bread dominates whole shopping cart aisles, there are many good reasons not to pick it up at all.

HERE’s a Study that talks about LDL being raised — Here’s the conclusion if you dont want to click links..

In summary, this study uniquely compared whole grain wheat to refined wheat bread and considered the influence of individual CVD risk and genetic variation on serum lipid response. Participants were not counselled on the macronutrient distribution of their diet and their intake was comparable to that reported in Canadian nutrition surveys [43]. Results showed that 6-week consumption of whole grain wheat sourdough bread did not significantly affect serum lipids in comparison to white bread, in adults of either a low or high level of CVD risk. When genetic variation was considered, albeit limited by retrospective assessment, it was found that in those with the APOE E3/E3 genotype, whole grain wheat sourdough bread unfavourably increased LDL-cholesterol in NGI participants, and TAG and TAG:HDL-cholesterol in HGI participants, when compared to white bread. These data add to the limited literature of intervention studies examining whole grain wheat relative to refined wheat breads and emphasize the need to consider genetic variation in relation to lipoprotein lipid content and CVD risk.

Unfavorably raised LDL levels in comparison to “WHITE bread” which we all know is bad and nutrient free.. so thats enough for me to scratch bread off my list…. A quick Google search of “Whole Wheat raises LDL cholesterol” will bring you a bunch of reuslts… look into it folks!!

America: ready to slim up?

Can someone verify if there is indeed a food crisis on the brink? Its being talked about quite a bit, but I haven’t really noticed much up in Canada to date in regards to this … I’d like to hear it, or see some verifiable evidence that this is indeed real…

Everyone in the world knows America needs to lose weight, so perhaps a food crisis is their opportunity to slim up… America, has tried to parade its version of “democracy” aka hegemony around the world…. well they tried and failed. America had problems before they even tried to insert their “democracy” onto other nations. America should have, taken care of their domestic issues first at home, before trying to be a global leader … LEAD BY EXAMPLE… they sure missed that one.. by a long shot.. and since they didn’t or couldn’t have any of that, it seems as if EVERYONE will suffer to some extent… (if there really is a food crisis)

well to hell with all that bullshit.. get some life straws for your family, some garden variety vegetable seeds, some weed seeds and get ready for some subsistence FARMING action this year…. you’d rather be safe than sorry… but like I said, USA needs to lose weight, so this could be looked upon as time to reflect on the Standard American Diet (SAD = depression) which consists of WHEAT and a whole bunch of other crap designed to infiltrate your body with GMO, pesticides, and maybe some candida, who knows…. so I’d make good use of this so called “food crisis” for some RAW food healing… America, are you ready to slim the fuck up? Canada is not much better either with our ever expanding waistlines… time to step up to the plate.. these are all reasons everyone should slowly gravitate towards a plant based diet, away from processed and wheat and crap…

I find it mildly entertaining to see a potential “food crisis” on the rise… there are too many wealthy people in the world, that could all help financially with this “crisis”, but they are part of the problem, as they don’t care to fix it… why they got money to hold onto of course, no point in spending a couple trillion dollars to help the world…. the TOP earners in the world could help re-shape the world, but sadly the world is ran by a bunch of sicko’s that don’t care about you or your family.. after all we are the “USELESS EATERS“…. I think I caught a whiff of revolution… maybe not, time will tell.

It makes a nice gift and its small enough to fit in a coat pocket, a “must have” for marijuana aficionados of all ages.

No reviews on amazon, but here’s the link

Exploring my latest thoughts…..

So last night I was on Vapor Central’s  site in their live chat, talkin g with a few other people about the new laws/regulations regarding the Medical Marijuana Access Regulations  (MMAR) that is being Superseded/amended over with the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulation (MMPR),  this coming 1 April 2014, is when the regulations are superseded.. Does anyone find the irony this is happening on April fools day ? LoL … I am curious as to why this ties in with the end of the Federal Fiscal Year… the Federal government’s Year end is 31 Mar 14 and the new year begins for them 1 April 14, which is also ironic as we all loosely know about April fools day… Are we citizens, fools for not piecing this little bit of irony together? (if you have the answer please let me know or drop it in the comments section at the bottom )   =)

Anyway onward, after or just before I closed the chat for the night, to get some shut eye, one of the members I was communicating with mentioned the “fallacy” of “Relative Privation” I did not know or understand this phrase.. So I looked it up, “Fallacy” simple definition explains it as,

fallacy defined

So for ex. Fallacy might be something like “all cops are bad” the generalization made that “all cops are bad” is not accurate, because they are humans too and susceptible to human error, and some are actually compassionate. I learned that from personal experience.

Now lets take a glance at how Google defines “Relative Privation”

relative privation defined

Relative Privation detracts from the topic on hand, an attempt to steer the subject to unrelated matters to the present subject under discussion. For example, “why don’t you invest your energy better, like instead of fighting to legalize pot, why not use that energy better, and direct it to something more meaningful or significant such as “human trafficking” or “grow up, there are more important issues in the world than the legal status of marijuana, you dope head” would be a very good example of stigma combined with relative privation.. and when you can pick up on this, you can steer the conversation/debate/argument back into your topic at your favour. I would start off with saying .. “I am okay with being wrong, but please do not try to segue this topic of conversation to unrelated matters” or “please do not engage me with your relative privation ideology” and when they ask, kindly explain what you mean.

Other thoughts of late:

Are we Canadians tired yet of being played by our Government that, “we elected” to steer our country down the roads of success and abundance? I know for a fact I am tired of it, and I am learning each and every day to better myself to help slowly reshape my reality around me… I am curious what our Conservative Mind Controllers think they have accomplished this year, if anything?

Lets take a closer look at the origins of the word “Government” in my eyes, its sort of synonymous with “Controlled Mind” if you think about the word check this out.. taken right from Google Translator

The english word “Govern” translates/synonymous in Latin to “impero

command, order, rule, master, govern, charge
charge, burden, requisition, order, command, govern
king, superintend, rule, govern, administer, administrate
pilot, govern, guide, steer, navigate
order, command, govern, rule, hold sway, requisition
command, order, enjoin, dominate, overlord, govern
order, command, enjoin, dominate, overlord, govern
ordain, order, arrange, rank, sort, govern
restrain, confine, retain, surround, enclose, govern
moderate, bound, check, stint, control, govern
restrain, confine, keep back, check, embody, govern

Now the english word “mind” translated into latin, the first noun, is “mens” which is synonymous with “Mind” “brain” etc..

mind, intention, intellect, brain, design, thought
mind, heart, Soul, affections, feeling, temper
sense, thought, mind, understanding, sensation, feeling
mind, intellect, astuteness, insight, acumen, shrewdness
salt, saline, Sal, brine, seawater, mind
brain, quiz, skull, head, mind, wit
head, capital, chapter, top, chief, mind
manage, care, take care, look after, tend, mind
refuse, reject, object, decline, disallow, mind
carve, engrave, cut on, mind
respect, look back, look, regard, esteem, mind
observe, see, notice, punish, mark, mind
mark, remark, mind, turn the mind to, see, notice
reflect, examine, look, mind, regard carefully, inspect

There is no doubts that the word Government has these origins, for all governments seek to control their populace in some way or another…  so I beg the question, is “Peaceful Anarchy” achievable?  A lot of you may be thinking “dude what the F are you talking about? what are you smoking ?”   or “you can’t have peace and anarchy man, doesn’t make sense” ….. well actually it does.. lets look to webster for the many definitions of what “Anarchy” is and what majority of people believe “Anarchy” to be…

anarchy defined

A utopian society of individuals who enjoy complete freedom without government”  … Doesn’t that sound nice to you? Sounds pretty appealing to ME! The MOST popular interpretation of “anarchy” is the top 2 nouns which are “absence of government” and  “a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority

These two nouns allude to “complete chaos” because perhaps the citizens got mentally sick of their “mind controllers“.. that would be why you might have negative connotations with the word “anarchy” … so lets look back at “Peaceful Anarchy” and see if that is achievable in today’s madness…  I want to introduce you to a quote from the man by the name of Buckminster Fuller (an out of the box thinker) who once said: “You can Never change things, by fighting the existing reality.  To Change something, build a new model to make the existing model obsolete.”

Ultimately it boils down to greed which satisfies one’s thirst for economic incentives.. if we could eliminate greed and envy perhaps peace would prevail… our desire for peace has not climaxed yet, and until it does, the game keeps being played on us.

Peaceful Anarchy” – is it achievable? Yes, I believe it is, but as I mention below, as I agree with Buckminister Fuller’s quote from above, that the positive change in the world we seek, must come first from us, first. We all must on a personal level thirst and have hunger pains for positive change in our lives. Then we must take action on a personal level to achieve this change, and then begin to help other achieve the same which will help re-shape the external world with positive energy… to bring about this change, we also need a source of enthusiasm for this “change” and to never let the “enthusiasm candle” blow out until our goal is met with SUCCESS.. for “enthusiasm never loses you” only you can lose enthusiasm.. and if you listen to what Gregg Swanson says in his podcast he has some pretty powerful stuff, such as, “if you lose your enthusiasm, there is no one to blame but yourself”… but you can also gain it back, when you lose enthusiasm or get caught up in a whirlwind of mindless thoughts, STOP, take a look around, and ask yourself this question “is this really what I want to do?”  To get a deeper understanding of this empowering concept we call enthusiasm I invite you to listen to this podcast

This might be a little redundant, but I really want to drive this point home to you all.. We cannot expect change by fighting the wrong-doers (politicians, prime ministers/presidents/dictators) of our current mad-chaotic world. In order for real change to take place, we the citizens of the world, must realize that change comes from within us first. We must seek change ourselves, before it takes place in the external world – Ghandi’s “Be the change you want to see in the world” is glove-fitting here..

If you do not know who Buckminister Fuller is, well I recommend you to learn about him, he was a very bright and thoughtful individual, I’d say he was ahead of his time… I mostly enjoyed reading this snippet from his wiki profile

Fuller attended Milton Academy in Massachusetts, and after that began studying at Harvard University, where he was affiliated with Adams House. He was expelled from Harvard twice: first for spending all his money partying with a vaudeville troupe, and then, after having been readmitted, for hisirresponsibility and lack of interest.” By his own appraisal, he was a non-conforming misfit in the fraternity environment.[3]

Amazing.. he’s on the same page as me, or I’m on the same page with him, haha..

He had a very interesting worldview is that of a “Unitarian”  (liberal religion) which has 7 main principles that sort of make up this world view (which I find to be very interesting), they are as fols:

  • The inherent worth and dignity of every person;
  • Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
  • Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;
  • A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
  • The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;
  • The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all;
  • Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part

These are the sorts of things that most people should value, but sadly do not, I think we should all share those values and we could do so without labeling it as “Utarian” which sort of implies “religion”, could be called “shared principles of humanity“.. In our current world model we are inherently obsessed with material things, icons and social statuses etc.. which to me now, looking back makes no sense at all… none, zip, nadda..

The answer is “how bad do we want positive – peaceful change”? because when we want it so bad we WILL do whatever it takes to achieve that. Just remember  it all starts with you. With me. Thus why I felt the importance to blog and share this, with our blogging community.

UPDATES: The High Canadian’s Crib

Hey folks.. as promised last night… finally getting back on here after a few days of what I call a “disconnect” phone and pc was off for about 4 straight days I think.. I try to go 3 days tech free every other couple of weeks to give my brain a break/rest…

So yesterday.. My beloved Girlfriend came home from work with a “SURPRISE” as she called it… turned out to be my PENSION paperwork after all…. finally I am sort of getting somewhere with these people… this had been dragging on for a few months (close to 5 months) to get simple paperwork in order (that probably only took the office 10 maybe 15 minutes max to draft up) in order to process my “transfer value” (lump sum payment of pension value, some locked in some not).

So this is all GREAT news.. I’m fully satisfied when I see the money in my accounts… I’ve already started looking into declaring “Financial Hardship” in order to leverage some extra money out of my Locked in Retirement Account (LIRA) in order to help further my education and to assist in me opening a business.. which segues me onto ……..

Other news... I registered a domain name, a DOT COM .. so keep an eye out for that in the future… I am hoping to move this blog over to there, or there over to here, something like that, anyway a merger of some kind will take place.. You may be wondering why I’m doing this, its pretty much because I have an idea of where I want to go and take my blog.. the NEXT LEVEL.. LoL…I am very much considering this business idea with my blog incorporated into it.. I’ve already got the idea in my head and have visualized this for some time now..I sorta held out on you all with this idea but here goes….I am hoping to create my own Cannabis Friendly vapor lounge (much like Chris Goodwin’s Vapor Central) … which will take the name of this blog.. The High Canadian’s Crib – Vapor Lounge – Social Arena

I would ensure you are all aware of Opening Day, and have it broadcast on my UStream Channel so you can all participate in the witnessing of my opening day with me!

I have a plan in mind to go about living out my dream, which is to be my own boss – working in the cannabis industry.. its risky business.. but isn’t living out your dream worth risking for ? I think it is, otherwise how do I know if could or could not live out my dream otherwise, if I didn’t take said risk ?

In terms of education, I am looking at HVAC this summer.. not to get deeply rooted in the industry, but enough  to get my certifications or quals, make some money gain some experience, and just enough to know how best to purify and deliver clean air for my future cannabizness.. I think that bridge, of being able to relate my discipline of study and knowing full well the benefits of having gained said knowledge, and being able to apply that knowledge to my personal endeavors, is what could potentially push me towards success in my personal venture that much more..

The one thing I learned all these years working for others… is that I should work for myself, because I’m selfless when I work, and I’d rather be “selfless” to my own business and success than someone else’s business or dream..  I, just like all of you out there, have the capacity to create our own success… and if you don’t take charge and program your own mind to do so, external events or other people will gladly do it for you…

So folks.. that is my update.. rather small, somewhat insignificant to most people, but I don’t mind, I feel like I’m making some progress in my life finally.. and by that I mean in terms of becoming my own boss.. I mapped out a path to get myself there, I may need a contingency plan or 2 just in case..  so I will work that out also… I think life might be better lived if your working for yourself..

Hey Folks.. been quiet past couple days..

Folks… I’m alright.. I’ve been quiet on my end past couple days, took a break from the tech and did a disconnect for a few days, got some down time to reflect and such… I got some good news to shed some light on and some other cool updates to follow, all coming out TOMORROW… I repeat.. Tomorrow .. that is 26 Feb 14.. I have a few errands to run in the morning which should bring me to lunch time maybe, and I’ll update ya’s all on the past few days.. and I got some catchin’ up to do in the blogosphere…

Cheers folks! *fist bump*

Until then, keep on puffin’ !!
